the long slog to spring

Hoan Bridge crossing the Port of Milwaukee, 4pm May 13, 2025

Along Lake Michigan today, the most fragile thin blanket of white kept the sun away and cheated us out of another 70 degree day. Down here at the lakefront in the late afternoon a fat robin and a good crowd of red wing blackbirds were feasting non the grass between the desaturated red lighthouse and the Summerfest stages. And the Hoan bridge was for once classy and fine keeping watch over the port.
